March 14, 2011 ~ The ‘backstory‘ on the Francis Lawrence (@Hibbits) signed WFE novels and more contest info:
Because I wanted something special to coincide with the premiere of  Water for Elephants I asked Francis if he would ‘autograph’ some copies of the film tie-in edition of the novel. He graciously agreed and I sent them off to Los Angeles, CA for his signature. From the beginning, even before the start of filming, Francis was kind and forthcoming with information regarding Water for Elephants and he continued on throughout the entire filming process. Francis is the heart and soul of WFE;  his vision along with his amazing production team have produced a gorgeous film that is true to the novel while broadening and deepening its themes… For Francis to take the time to sign copies of the book is beyond wonderful and I am so pleased that I have the honor of awarding them to you… Basic Contest Rules: I will begin the contest next week; it will involve answering a specific question that I will post on this ‘Contest’ page. The answer can be found within the pages of my film blog so everyone has an equal opportunity to win… You will then email your answer to WFEContest@gmail.com and the winner will be chosen at random through a drawing. This ‘contest’ is open to everyone, Worldwide! I have several ‘autographed’ copies of the novel so this contest will repeat  for several weeks. Thank you for your love and support of Water for Elephants; please check back here and follow me on Twitter WFEfilm for more specific details.

  1. Thanks I will try to participate. Just read the book but on ebook. So I hope I could get a hard copy :]

  2. The movie is showing in Carson City Nevada on April 22 with a special local reception being held by the Northern Nevada Railway Foundation. The reception is a fund raiser to help pay for the future maintenance of the No. 18 used to make the movie.

We are all very excited both about a great book made into a movie and seeing the No. 18 on screen.

This will be the 84th Movie that a V&T Engine will have been in. The No. 18 although lettered the McCloud Railroad is now owned by the V&T Railway Commission and operated by the V&T Railroad.
