March 16, 2011 ~ I had a wonderful hour long phone interview with Francis Lawrence yesterday! He was very warm and down-to-earth and we covered many Water for Elephants topics. I will be transcribing the interview over the next few days (time permitting) and posting it to a new blog page! I will also be posting more info on the Contest very soon… (so much to do, so little time!)

On another note: This is an excerpt (translated) from a De Presse.com article about Rob Pattinson that was published back in July 2010. I am re-posting it because with the privilege of hindsight, it’s so insightful. It’s very interesting how Rob was describing his ‘perfect day’. During my interview with Francis he referred to the WFE set in a similar way…
You are currently shooting “Water for Elephants” with the Austrian Christoph Waltz. How are you getting along with him?

Christoph is stunning, an insanely nice guy. He is not only a ridiculously good actor, he is also really funny, helpful, and a good colleague. I like his work ethic. I mean, the guy has won an Oscar—and despite that he is receptive, open-minded, and not the least bit snooty. And Reese Witherspoon is the same. It may be the nicest cast that I have worked with yet—a really great experience.
You seem to only work. What would the perfect day look like for you?
Recently I stood in the desert, far outside of L. A., and watched the sun set on a circus tent from 1930. Everywhere stood animals: elephants, tigers that should be loaded into a steam train. 300 extras in costumes raced around, the modern world had disappeared totally. Although that was totally fake, it still happened directly before my eyes! That was my perfect day. I would be gladly experience that every day. It happens continually to me: It calls itself work. That is wonderful and more than enough. (you can read the entire translated article at the Source)

Fox Movie Channel is producing a new series and the first episode is about filming Water for Elephants!  So far they’ve interviewed Andrew Tennenbaum and Erwin Stoff (producers), director Francis Lawrence,  screenwriter Richard LaGravenese and casting director Denise Chamian. The episode will air next month (April) and they promised to tweet exact air date and time… I am hoping that they will feature the episode on their website as well for those who do not subscribe to Fox Movie Channel. March 6, 2011 ~ So much has happened in the past couple of days, my head is spinning! First off the new (2nd) Water for Elephants trailer debuted on Thursday, March 3rd, on Amazon.com and shortly thereafter on WFE Official Facebook page. The new trailer did not disappoint and there are a few new scenes as well, truly brilliant! Of course everyone congratulated Francis Lawrence on a beautiful job and he tweeted his response: “Thanks for the great reaction! I am very pleased with the trailer as well… Only two days left until the movie is done.” If the new domestic trailer wasn’t enough, on Saturday (March 5th), another new WFE international trailer was released as well! I think it is the best out of all of the trailers thus far, it shows the darker side of the film, which is what I was hoping for… I added both of the trailers to the Videos page. A couple of other bits of news: 20th Century Fox confirmed that they have arranged a London premiere for Water for Elephants… The date is May 3rd, Rob Pattinson is attending… However, the venue/theater has not been locked in. There is only one USA premiere planned, and according to the Official WFE Facebook page they’re working toward confirming the NYC date… I’ve added a link to the WFE Official website page showing all of the Worldwide release dates for Water for Elephants, just click on the image in the sidebar above ~WFE RELEASE DATES~... And finally the most important news of all: On Saturday afternoon Francis ,@Hibbits, tweeted: “2 reels left to check and then we’re done. Nice to finish this with rodrigo, Alan bell and our amazing vfx team!” Then about an hour later, the tweet we’ve all been waiting for: “Breaking open the champagne!!! WFE is finished.” It’s been a long road from book to film and looking back on FL tweets he’s actually been ‘working’ on Water for Elephants since February 2009! The film is finished and the trailers look wonderful it’s going to be a long wait for April 22nd to arrive… Of course there will be loads of promos between now and then to keep us happy… I will be adding the new trailer screen caps via @RPLife to Gallery 4 over the next few days. Also, keep checking this page because I have a few surprises that I will share very soon…

March 3, 2011 ~ New Water for Elephants trailer to premiere today on Amazon.com and WFE Official Facebook page at 5pm PST (pacific standard time)! Also, they released three new gorgeous WFE film stills/photos yesterday which I’ve added to Image Gallery 4. Late last night Francis Lawrence tweeted the facts after some speculation/rumors circulated about the finished running time (length) of WFE. Here is his tweet: “The movie is just under 2 hours long… Not 1:37…Also… It will officially be done this weekend!” Early this morning Rob Pattinson participated in a phone interview with Ryan Seacrest during Ryan’s radio show where he talked a bit about Water for Elephants.
